Congressional Gold Medals for US Military are few and far between. Since WW II, they include The Tuskegee Airmen; Navajo Code Talkers; Women Airforce Service Pilots; the 100th Inf Bn (Go For Broke) of the 442nd RCT; Doolittle Raiders; American Flying Aces; and THE FIRST SPECIAL SERVICE FORCE, and the 65TH INFANTRY REGIMENT. The Department of Pennsylvania has at least two members with this very special award. One is Bert Winzer, Chapter 190, who was a rifleman in the FSSF and who was in the unit from its inception in early WWII to its disbandment. The second is Harry (Dean) Clark, who was a Medical Service Corps officer assigned to the 65th Infantry Regimental Combat Team during the Korean War.
